The story below is by one of our own students, Macy Grove after a lesson with one of our miniature horses Daisey.  Enjoy!

Crazy Daisey

Hi, my name is Macy Grove and I am 8 years old.  I have been horse riding at TELC for about one year.  When I started lessons I rode Daisey.  For the past 6 months I have been riding Dusty and CC.  I have not ridden Daisey in a long time.

At my most recent lesson I rode Daisey.  She was being very stubborn!  She would turn the wrong way, take off running, quickly come to a stop and follow CC.  Daisey was doing all the things I did NOT want her to do.  I had never experienced this before.  I wasn't sure what to do.

Jo taught me that if I heard the reins clip at the end clinging against the bit Daisey would most likely go the way I need her to.  Jo said I needed to sit back and pull the reins hard when I wanted Daisey to stop! I really had to yell at Daisey and not be scared and take lots of control.

This was my most challenging lesson so far.  As you can see I really learned a lot and that makes me a better rider!
